By using Hitokuji you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

The app

Hitokuji gives you one Japanese lesson a day, presented as an omikuji fortune. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use it on devices you own or control.

Free days and purchase

Your first 7 fortunes are free, and after that you get one free fortune a week. A one-time purchase ($9.99 or the local equivalent) unlocks the rest of the year: a new fortune every day, or up to three a day if you like. There’s no subscription. The App Store or Google Play handles payments and refunds under their own rules, and you can restore your purchase on a new device from Settings.

Fortunes are for fun

The fortunes, ranks and charms are a playful way to frame each lesson. They aren’t predictions or advice, so please don’t make decisions based on them.

Learning content

We work hard to keep the Japanese accurate, but mistakes can slip through. If you find one, tell us and we’ll fix it.

Ownership

The app, its design, photos, illustrations and lesson content belong to Wano Labs LLC or its licensors. Please don’t copy, resell or redistribute them.

Your account

If you sign in, keep your Apple or Google account secure. You can delete your account and Hitokuji data at any time from せってい → Your data.

No warranty

Hitokuji is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app. This doesn’t affect any rights you have that can’t be waived by law.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms, and if we do we’ll change the date above. You can stop using Hitokuji at any time. If we ever shut it down, your downloaded lessons will keep working offline.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA.
